Keylor and Keiler were born at six months of gestation, so fragile that the doctor told their father, Jairo Palomino: “They may survive, or they may not.” Jairo, with his faith intact, simply replied that if God had sent them to him, there had to be a reason.

Keylor survived a month and a half in the hospital, but at age three, another blow came: he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, and the doctors said he would never walk on his own. In Barranquilla, without a steady job and with Jairo driving a motorcycle taxi to support the family, they built a small therapy space in the patio of their home with their own hands.

That is where Keiler, his twin, became his driving force. He supports him, applauds him, and reminds him that he can do it with every attempt. Keylor is already making progress and dreams of meeting Luis Díaz and Richard Ríos, his idols from the Colombia national team, one day.
