In the days before his death, he drifted in and out of consciousness as complications from diabetes and other health problems weakened him.
The story comes primarily from his wife, Mina Edison.
According to her account, Edison briefly regained awareness near the end of his life, opened his eyes, looked upward, and said, “It is very beautiful over there.”
Those were reported to be among his final words.
His name is Will Rizzo, and his son, Izaiah, has WOREE syndrome.
This very rare neurological disorder, linked to the WWOX gene, can cause severe epilepsy, significant developmental delays, and a high degree of dependence in daily life. 😢
Izaiah uses a wheelchair, and his parents must constantly carry medical equipment with them: respiratory devices, a suction system, feeding equipment, and emergency supplies.
But his family refuses to let his disability prevent him from exploring the world. 🌍
Under the name “Found Nomads,” his parents have launched a truly incredible project: traveling across the United States with him.
They’ve traveled across the country as far as Florida and are visiting places that would normally be extremely difficult to access for someone with such extensive medical needs.
In some videos, you can see his father pulling his wheelchair right onto the beach or helping him access landscapes that Izaiah might never have been able to experience otherwise. 👏
The family has even launched a fundraiser to finance a van specially adapted for his disability and all his equipment.
Behind these images that have gone viral, there’s more to it than just a road trip… Above all, there are parents determined to give their son as many experiences as possible, despite an illness that makes every trip incredibly difficult.
They had been with Ziya Paval, their partner, for three years in Kozhikode, Kerala. Both had begun their gender transition years earlier: hormone therapy, surgeries, the long journey toward their final bodies. Zahhad had already undergone breast removal surgery. But one day, that process was put on hold. They wanted a child, and to make that possible, Zahhad paused their transition and became pregnant.
On February 8, 2023, their baby was born by cesarean section at the Government Medical College Hospital, weighing 2.920 kilos. It was the first documented case in India of a transgender man giving birth. But the story did not end there: when the time came to register the child, the couple asked for something no form provided for—that Ziya be listed as the mother and Zahhad as the father.
The hospital did not know how to respond. The case reached the Kerala High Court, which ultimately ruled in their favor: both could simply appear as ‘parents,’ without labels that did not represent who they are.
In 2017, 3 Chinese women flew to South Korea for plastic surgery. Coming home, faces still bandaged and swollen, they looked nothing like their passport photos and airport security denied them boarding.
Their viral airport photo, passports in hand, only got resolved after a hospital certificate proved who they were. Turns out this happens often enough that Korean hospitals now issue these certificates in advance.
Beauty sometimes comes with the most unexpected price. 😑

Although her life was heartbreakingly short, the kindness shown to her during her final hours created a moment her family would never forget.
Colby’s story is a reminder that sometimes, a small act of kindness can mean everything to someone going through unimaginable pain.

During his time at the shelter, this German shepherd looked calm, serious, and somewhat insecure. Everything changed when a family decided to adopt him and give him a place he could finally call home.
The transformation was captured in images, and his expression especially caught people’s attention. In his new home, he appears looking at the camera with his mouth open and a huge smile, very different from the expression he had while waiting to be adopted.
We can’t know exactly what he was feeling at each moment, but the contrast between the two photographs won over everyone who saw them.

In 2019, Michael Sherman decided to replace his traditional front lawn in Chino, California, with a food garden. His goal was simple: save money, grow fresher food, and provide his family with produce he could trust.

City officials say Sherman’s garden violates local rules regarding overgrown vegetation. What he sees as a productive food garden, the city considers a violation of property-maintenance standards.
The dispute highlights a growing tension between traditional expectations for neat, grass-covered lawns and the increasing number of people turning their yards into productive gardens.
For Sherman, it isn’t about making a statement. He says he simply wants to grow food for his family and have greater control over what they eat.
So where should the line be drawn?
Should homeowners be free to grow food wherever they have space, or should cities be allowed to enforce rules about how front yards look? 💚🌱

More than two years later, the Villarrica Oral Criminal Court issued a guilty verdict against Zabala Briones for animal cruelty. Loncoche prosecutor Ghislaime Durán described the ruling as unprecedented: very few cases of cruelty toward animals reach oral trial in Chile. The convicted man faces up to 3 years in prison, a fine, and a permanent ban on owning pets again. The reading of the final sentence is scheduled for September 11.
