Her son, Hunter, normally uses an AAC device to select letters and words.
But one day, the battery ran out while they were out.
So he drew a keyboard on paper and started pointing to the letters instead.
That gave his mom, Jessica, an idea.
She had a full keyboard tattooed across her forearm.
Now, if his device ever stops working, runs out of battery or is not nearby, Hunter can simply use her arm to spell what he wants to say.
When he first saw the tattoo, he grabbed her arm and spelled:
“Mama.”
Later, he used it to tell her he loved her.
Most tattoos are meant to say something about the person wearing them.
This one was made so someone else could always have a voice.
