As her condition rapidly worsened, Colby became too sick to leave her home and travel to a movie theater. Her family desperately wanted to make her final wish come true, so a family friend contacted Pixar.
The studio responded immediately.
The very next day, a Pixar employee flew to Colby’s home in California carrying an early copy of the unreleased movie, along with stuffed animals and other Up memorabilia. 🧸
Colby was in so much pain that she couldn’t open her eyes to watch the screen. Instead, her mother, Lisa, sat beside her and lovingly narrated every scene of the movie.
When asked whether she enjoyed it, Colby gave a gentle nod. ❤️
Just seven hours after her final wish was fulfilled, Colby peacefully passed away.
Although her life was heartbreakingly short, the kindness shown to her during her final hours created a moment her family would never forget.
